Content Policies in Detail

A detailed breakdown of the Content Policies for Xoul.AI.

Images

All images used anywhere on the platform that are Public or Unlisted (including those marked NSFW) must follow the following rules:

Images: Age

All character should look like they are at least 18.

While all art styles are allowed, including photo-realistic, generic anime, cartoon style, and everything in between, make sure your character passably looks to be at least 18 years of age or older by avoiding:

  • Small head to body ratio.

  • Underdeveloped bodies (complete lack of hip/chest/etc. development) with small limbs.

  • Extremely youthful faces with large eyes.

This applies to all visible characters within an image.

Ask yourself, does this depiction believably represent a character which, on first glance, appears at LEAST 18 years of age?

If the answer is no, or only when you click the image to reveal the non-cropped version, or requires the viewer read the text to be convinced they are looking at a character that is 18 or older, the character does not meet the threshold of an adult, and the image must be changed.

Images: Real People

Disallowed Images:

  • Photos of real, living people from social media, the internet, or that you took yourself without explicit consent.

  • Living (or recently deceased) celebrities or politicians, in photos or as an AI-generated likeness.

  • Cropped images from someone's personal life (e.g., taking a belly from a pregnancy vlog). Using personal images for fetish content is a serious violation and will not be tolerated.

Remember: Even if an image is cropped or edited, if it started as a real person without their consent, it's not allowed. The intent matters. Do not use images for fetishistic or harassing purposes.

Images: Nudity & Sexual Content

The Coverage Rule: No Explicit Nudity

All genitalia, pubic regions, and female-presenting nipples and areolas must be completely covered by opaque, non-see-through clothing. This rule is absolute.

  • No Visible Anatomy: Coverage must be total. There can be no "wardrobe malfunctions," slip-ups, or visible outlines of genitalia or areolas (e.g., detecting color or specific shape through fabric).

  • No Sheer or Translucent Clothing: Clothing cannot be see-through over genitals or breasts. If the color or shape of genitalia or areolas is discernible through the fabric, it is not allowed. Otherwise sheer clothing is allowed, provided it does not reveal anything explicit.

  • No "Painted-On" Clothing: Clothing cannot be so tight-fitting on genitalia that it is functionally equivalent to nudity.

    • Hardened nipples and general bulges are fine so long as the exact anatomy is not clearly discernible through the clothing.

  • Depictions of sexual acts are prohibited: Even if genitalia are censored or not visible. The intent and action are what matter. If it's clear what act is being performed, the content is not allowed.

Other Image Rules

No images containing hate symbols, discriminatory themes, or extremist iconography. This includes stylized or ironic usage.

These include things like KKK robes, propaganda imagery, swastikas or other known hate symbols or icons.

Text & Concept Rules

Text content includes all written or tagged elements on all content across the platform including everything from the Name, Description, Tagline, Creator Memo, Tags, Greeting, Lorebook Entries, Scenarios and Intros, etc.

Xoul.AI is built for users at least 18 years of age or older to explore creative storytelling without censorship. We do not remove content for being "uncomfortable," provided it adheres to the rules below and is properly tagged.

No Depictions of Minors

To maintain a strictly 18+ environment, all characters and narratives must be exclusively about adults. There are no exceptions to this rule.

All characters must be explicitly and unambiguously 18 years of age or older, both physically and mentally.

  • Prohibited Concepts: A character cannot have a child's body with an adult's mind, or an adult's body with a child's mind. These archetypes are strictly forbidden.

  • No Functional Children: Characters may possess traits like immaturity or innocence, but if the total character concept is functionally a child, it will be removed. It should feel clear that the character described is an adult navigating adulthood.

No References or Relationships Involving Minors. The prohibition extends to any mention or implication of underage characters.

  • You cannot include babies, toddlers, children, teenagers, or any characters under 18 in the narrative, even as off-screen references. To abide by these rules wholesome family content is not permitted on Xoul.AI.

  • This means: A character can be a mother, but she cannot be explicitly written to have minor aged children. Leave all children out of content.

For Canonical Characters from Source Material: If a character is canonically a minor in their source material (e.g., an anime, game, or book), take steps to portray them as adults.

  • The character is judged by its depiction within the platform. Use images that portray the character as passably an adult & describe them as one.

  • The age in the Age Field is the stated, aged up age you are portraying the character as. However, the image and other text on this content must be a believable match to the age listed.

  • For iconic child/teen characters, these have a higher requirement for a successful age up. Do not describe a well-known child character as a simple character profile of traits with their canonical age scrubbed. You must make an effort to describe an adult navigating adulthood.

User Roleplay: You cannot create content that instructs or implies the user's character should be or is playing the role of a character under the age of 18.

This includes when the user's role places them into a position of a child. (e.g. Xoul is babysitting user. You MUST provide a reasonable explanation to justify how this would make sense as a dynamic between two clearly identified adult characters. You're welcome to come up with creative/funny/interesting explanations to explain this, but an explanation must be included.)

Responsible Storytelling

You have the freedom to explore complex, mature, and explicit themes through text.

  • Tagging is Mandatory:

    • All content containing sexual or otherwise adult material must be tagged appropriately (e.g., NSFW).

    • Context exploring complex or difficult themes such as mental health, violence, or other subjects must be appropriately tagged.

    • Fetishes should always be tagged with their most widely recognized name.

  • Use Content Warnings: For sensitive or potentially triggering material (e.g., graphic violence, non-consensual themes), provide clear warnings in your Tagline, Description, or Creator Memo, and use all relevant Tags.

Common Tags & What They Mean

Use these tags to help users find the content they're looking for and avoid what they're not. Proper tagging is a core part of responsible creation on our platform.Content Intensity & Warnings

  • Dead Dove: Take ALL other warnings and tags on this content at face value. This tag acts as an augment to others, signaling that the content contains serious, explicit, and literal depictions of the themes warned about. It means: "No, we are being completely serious here; these warnings must be heeded."

  • NSFL (Not Safe For Life): An alternative to NSFW for content that is graphic, violent, gory, or otherwise deeply disturbing or psychologically uncomfortable. Often used for extreme horror or realistic tragedy.

Themes of Consent

  • NonCon (Non-Consensual): Features themes, scenes, or acts where clear, explicit consent is not given by one or more parties.

  • DubCon (Dubious Consent): Features themes where consent is ambiguous, coerced, or compromised. This includes situations where a character cannot give proper consent (e.g., due to magic, power imbalances, or intoxication) or where there is no explicit "no," but the situation is clearly not fully consensual.

User Perspective & Point-of-View (POV)

  • FemPov (Female Point-of-View): The content is written to treat the user's persona as a female-presenting character. It will refer to the user as "she" and may assume or specify that the user's persona has female anatomy.

  • MalePov (Male Point-of-View): The content is written to treat the user's persona as a male-presenting character. It will refer to the user as "he" and may assume or specify that the user's persona has male anatomy.

  • AnyPov (Any Point-of-View): The content is written to be as neutral as possible regarding the user's persona. It typically avoids gendering the user and makes minimal assumptions about their identity, though it may still define a relationship (e.g., "user is xoul's childhood friend").

Character Pairings & Orientation

  • M4M / MLM (Man for Man / Men Loving Men): Content focused on a romantic or sexual relationship between male-identifying characters.

  • W4W / WLW (Woman for Woman / Women Loving Women): Content focused on a romantic or sexual relationship between female-identifying characters.
