(Group) Chats & Multi-User Chats

A brief overview of how to set up (group) chats, combine them with Scenarios, and turn them into Multi-User chats!

You can click on any Scenario or Xoul you find in search results, displayed on the home page, or on a user's profile to begin a direct chat with the Xoul or Scenario, however you can also click the select icon in the navigation panel or click the 'start a (group) chat' section on the creation page, found in the creation section on mobile devices.

In this menu you can combine multiple features together easily, creating simplistic Scenarios, mixing one Xoul with any pre-made Scenario that doesn't come with a Xoul embedded in it already or select multiple Xouls to create a Group Chat.

Let's walk through the various combinations you can create from this menu.

Select Page

When you first land on this page you'll be invited to select any Xoul you can see on this page, or search for any Xoul you'd like. From here you can click 'Continue' to simply proceed into a single-Xoul chat with the selected Xoul.

Optionally, you can click 'Add Scenario' to scroll through or search for any Scenario that doesn't come embedded with Xouls inside of it, easily combining a character with a premise.

Simple Scenarios

There is also an option to quickly create a Scenario which you can click on the 'Add Scenario' page.

Optionally, you can click Custom Scenario which will pop up a simplified Scenario text field.

Whatever is typed into the Custom Scenario field will be displayed at the top of the chat, overriding the Xoul's provided Intro.

Group Chats

When you select more than one Xoul, the 'Add Scenario' option changes to an 'Options' page, which you will be taken to upon clicking 'Continue with (x) Xouls'.

Options Page

Here you will be able to create a Name for the chat, describe a scenario premise, embed up to three lorebooks and select the response type.

Once completed simply click 'Create Groupchat' to proceed into the Group Chat.

Response Type & Talkativity

When you set up a Group Chat you'll be asked to select the Response Type.

You can also find the adjustable settings for Dynamic (beta) by clicking the three dots menu in the upper right hand corner of the screen and opening the settings option where you will find 'Talkativity' as one of the available dropdown menus.

With Auto Respond toggled off you will be able to manually select which Xoul replies next.

With Auto Respond toggled on you will be able to adjust the likelihood that a Xoul will reply in the chat. At 1.00 the Xoul will always respond, but at 0.00 the Xoul is never respond unless you directly reference the character in a way that indicates they should respond. Values between minimum and maximum changes the likelihood that a Xoul will respond. Feel free to adjust it as necessary!

Multi-User Chats

Once you are in the Group Chat you can click the three dots menu in the upper right corner to open the right side panel. Here you will find a Group Chat Link that you can share with other Xoul.AI users to invite them into your chat!

Multi-User chats can contain 8 Xouls and up to 8 users. Once a second user is in the chat the options for auto and manual respond will disappear. You will have to write a reply containing "@Mark" or "@Yuria" to get the Xoul to reply.

All user's Persona Icons and a bit of the first line of the description will be visible to all users in the chat. Be sure you're prepared for other users to see your Persona before you join!
