Making Custom Voices

Voice Design

Clicking Voice Design will take you to the page where you can generate a voice from a prompt.

You'll need to include a prompt for the voice, describing what kind of voice you want and also provide a message for it to speak to generate samples.

Once generated, three versions of the voice you created based on the prompt will be offered. Once you are satisfied with one of them you can spend 30 Cells to create this voice.

Voice Clone

Clicking Voice Clone will take you to the page where you can clone a voice from an audio file.

You can choose to record your own voice or provide three clips. Voice clips are best when they're at least 30-60 seconds long but less than 3 minutes. You can provide up to three clips.

You'll need to click to confirm that you have the legal rights to use the voice you are cloning. Do not clone voices of celebrities or voice actors if you do not own the rights to the clip of their voice!

Social Tab

Once you proceed to the next page you will be asked to name the Voice, provide a description, give a small amount of text to preview the voice, and set the visibility of the voice.

Voices Across the Platform

Preview a Xoul's Voice

When reviewing a Xoul's profile page you'll notice a play button below the icon image, but above the 'Start a New Chat' and 'Remix' option.

By clicking this icon you will be able to preview the voice of the character before chatting with them.

Your account preferences has an option to turn on Xoul voice autoplay, which when toggled on will result in every Xoul's profile page you open automatically playing a short clip of their voice.

Voices Within Chats

Within a chat, below a chat bubble, is the audio button which will have the Xoul's selected voice speak the dialogue from that bubble.

If you click the three dots menu in the top right corner of the screen and open the settings panel, you will find the Voice & Narration dropdown menu where you will be able to select a different voice for the Xoul, select which voice will speak dialogue and which voice will speak narration, and turn on or off voice and narration autoplay.

There is also a 'see all voices' option which will open a display of all the voices available on Xoul, whether they're Xoul's voices or voices created by other users.

By clicking the call panel you'll also be able to enter a voice call with any Xoul, allowing you the chat as if you're talking over the phone with the character.

Voice calls costs 5 Cells per minute.
